Building and Design Quality Awards
We felt it was time that local builders and developers working in the Bath and North East Somerset area should receive recognition for the high standards of workmanship and project management our surveyors see every day.
Building Quality Award
This scheme rewards those builders who work to the highest standards, taking into account important matters such as health and safety, compliance with Building Regulations and customer satisfaction. Building Control surveyors will make additional notes when they make their normal inspections, to ascertain if a project is suitable for an award. The categories are: Domestic Extensions, New Buildings, Public/Commercial Buildings and Works on Listed Buildings. The winners will receive their award at an annual ceremony.
Design Award
Suitable projects submitted to the council's Building Control Section will be chosen for shortlisting by officers from the section. Owners and/or agents submitting projects and members of the public may recommend any project they feel deserves consideration. An independent, qualified panel will carry out the shortlisting and final judging for this award. As with the Building Quality award, the categories are Domestic Extensions, New Buildings, Public/Commercial Buildings and Works on Listed Buildings. There will be an annual ceremony to congratulate the winners.

To be eligible for entry into any year's awards, a project must be complete by October in the relevant year, and have received Bath & North East Somerset council Building Regulations approval.
