Bath & North East Somerset Building Control Section has adopted the Partner Authority Scheme. This Innovative and practical approach to obtaining Building Regulations approval eliminates inconsistency, uncertainty and delays. There are no additional charges under the new scheme.
The scheme allows a company to partner with a local authority of its own choice. The partner authority will deal with all aspects of design including:
- plans examination
- pre-application advice
- all necessary consultations, including the Fire Service, wherever the project is located within England and Wales
Site inspections will be carried out by the local authority for the build site, but in close liaison with the partner authority.
The scheme is suitable for all developers that build across a wide geographic area. Architects and design and build contractors can also benefit from the scheme.
As with all new building, you must submit a Application for building control approval with full plans form.
